The bad news: I won't make it to the Gay Pride Parade in West Hollywood tomorrow. The biggest shame is that there will be a Transamerican Love Story car, with Calpernia Addams, Andrea James, Jim Howley, and Alec Mapa aboard, and I won't get to see any of them. To date, my only Pride experience ever remains a comparatively small parade in Tucson, Arizona, in 2001 (where I marched as the token Mary Kay saleswoman).
The good news: I will see lesbian icon Melissa Etheridge on August 29th at Greek Theatre in Hollywood. It'll be my second time seeing her - and I look forward to the experience. Lesbian Power, baby!
